In this article, I’m going to highlight a few interior design ideas that you might like to consider if you are considering a redesign of your house or apartment.
The spring is all about new life, rejuvenation and freshness.
Spring home decorating ideas generally follow these broad concepts, with the focus on fresher, more cheery shades to brighten your living space up.
Not surprisingly, the first thing that you need to think about is the size and shape of the room that you’re thinking of redesigning.
You also need to take account of other aspects such as the natural lighting of the room as well because everything combines to form the ‘raw materials’ that you’ll be working with.
The colors most commonly associated with Spring are pastel shades, oftentimes pinks and lilacs. Some people love these shades whereas they don’t work quite so well for others.
In this case, lighter shades of green and blue may be more to your taste and they work just as well when it comes to brightening a room.
If the room that you are decorating is small, sticking to just one shade may be the best option whereas a larger space is more capable of carrying off more than one shade with flair.
A Spring themed room is in general relatively clutter free, so if you’re the kind of person that tends to collect junk, you may need to think of getting rid of some of it! In addition, as newly blooming flowers are a strong symbol of Spring, adding cut flowers into the redesign plan is well worth considering.
One cool Spring redesign idea that I heard somewhere recently was what I choose to call the ‘seven second sweep’ although in honesty, it actually takes considerably less than seven seconds!
Go into the room that you are planning to redesign with your eyes closed, paper and pencil in hand. Open your eyes and ‘sweep’ the room, writing down the three things that you least like in this space.
Changing or getting rid of whatever you have on your list is a great starting point for your spring ‘upgrade’ as it’s a very quick but easy way of sprucing up your home! Do this with every room and you can freshen up your whole home in double quick time.
